4. Old Business:
a. March 2026 Financials – Disapproved by Board; Board collectively agreed to
motion to end service with Martin CPA and provide 30-days’ notice for service
conclusion. Noted as old business, in order to follow-up regarding 30-day notice
for service conclusion.
b. Website corrections to be reviewed.
c. UPS Rental Agreement – Board to discuss further.
d. Water Board and HFD Building Lease Agreement – Discuss and amend 3.1.1,
Designated Space, 5. Maintenance, and 6. Parking.
e. Board gratitude to Smith River for fire truck donation - Chief Dollar to have card
prepared for May 2026 Board Meeting for members to sign, with photo of staff in
front of truck.

5. New Business:
a. SDAO Organizational Assessment
Board review of organizational assessment monthly; 2.1.3 Financial, 2.2.3, Hiring,
and 2.2.4, Problem Solving added to May 2026 Agenda for Board comprehensive
review.
b. Budget Committee for State - Chief Dollar noted in April 2026 Regular Meeting that
ORS 294 stipulates budget committee requirements; Chief Dollar noted in April 2026
Regular Meeting that HFD would advertise/canvas two community members to
submit letter of interest to the Board for participation in Budget Committee; Status
and action needed for scheduling June 2026 Budget Committee. Note to add Payroll
to the June 2026 Budget Committee. Discuss planned Budget Committee, to include
tentative date(s), committee members, and key discussion agenda items.

This is the time for the public to address the Board of Directors on any matter not on the
agenda, but within the jurisdiction of the Board of Directors. Each person shall be
permitted to speak for no more than 5 minutes; people speaking on behalf of an
organization may speak for no more than 15 minutes. Those wishing to speak on a
matter that is on the agenda may do so at the time the item is taken up by the Board of
Directors.

Directors may report about various matters involving the district or may request matters
be included on subsequent meeting agenda(s) for discussion and/or action. Discussion
will be limited to that necessary to clarify an issue or request. No action will be taken.
